Boston, MA, (December 22, 2015) – Cakewalk, dedicated to powerful and thoughtfully designed software for modern musicians, announces the new “Lexington” release for SONAR Artist, Professional and Platinum versions. This is the eleventh “Rolling Update” that continues Cakewalk's commitment to improving and optimizing SONAR's core functionality, while delivering new world-class technology every month.
Building off the success of last month’s “Kingston” release, the new “Lexington” update continues to offer innovative speed optimizations that benefit all types of projects. The improvements are most dramatic with projects hosting a large number of tracks, plug-ins, and clips. In benchmark tests, the new SONAR “Lexington” performed up to 20 times faster than SONAR X3 with tasks such as “selecting all” clips with exceptionally high track counts, file importing, project loading, quantizing, bouncing audio clips, and more, all which add up to a faster and smoother experience for users. Furthermore, SONAR now supports Multichannel PCM WAV files with more than 24 channels.
“Lexington” also adds five Style Dial effects—GATER, SHAPER, SMOOTHER, DEPTH and PULSE?to the existing roster of GRIT, SPACE, and MAX. With these single-knob processors, each Style Dial controls multiple parameters simultaneously, so rotating the control takes you through a variety of “sweet spots.” The new Style Dials are compatible with SONAR Artist’s MixStrip, and the ProChannel in SONAR Professional and SONAR Platinum.
