30th Anniversary Anderton Collection FX Chains

30th Anniversary Anderton Collection FX Chains

These FX Chains are Craig Anderton’s latest versions of his go to signal flows that he uses in his productions. Some of these FX Chains are updates of processors included in previous releases. Some were introduced in the “Friday’s Tip of the Week” thread in the SONAR forums, but as “do it yourself” projects with instructions on how to assign the controls—now they’re convenient downloads. We hope you enjoy what these processors can do to help take your projects to the next level—download them, play with them, and have fun!

Cakewalk History

Yes, time flies when you're having fun, but it's hard to believe this adventure started back in 1987—when Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" and Buster Poindexter's "Hot Hot Hot" were climbing the charts, "Dirty Dancing" hit the theaters, Clive Sinclair launched the Z88 portable computer, and the first Starbucks opened.

Meanwhile, Greg Hendershott had decided to take some software he'd worked on at Oberlin College and turn it into a real sequencer. Cakewalk—a name chosen when he found out the original name he'd planned to use for his MIDI sequencer was taken—was released for MS-DOS, and became so popular that before too long, Hendershott changed the name of the company from Twelve Tone Systems to Cakewalk.

30 years means a lot to us at Cakewalk. We've seen other companies come and go, and feel fortunate to still be here. Ultimately, though, the reason we're still passionate about what we do is you—your support, your evangelizing on our behalf, and your suggestions for how we can make our products better.

So we're throwing a birthday party, and you're invited! For the next 12 months, we'll be surprising you in a variety of ways—including some fun freebies. In addition to SONAR's ongoing evolution as the leading DAW for Windows, we'll also be introducing some exciting new products. And yes, there will be some specials happening from time to time... so stay tuned.

We appreciate your support over the past 30 years, and we're already looking forward to the next 30. Come join us!
