3. Play or perform the material you want to record. As you record, Cakewalk displays a clip containing the new material in the Clips pane (unless you have disabled the Display Waveform Preview While Recording option in Edit > Preferences > Customization - Display).To listen to the new material, set the Now time to the start of the clip and press the SPACEBAR or click . If you’re not happy with the recording, use Edit > Undo or press CTRL+Z to erase the new material.

Note: If you prefer to always use offline Help, go to Edit > Preferences > File > Advanced in your Cakewalk software and select Always Use Offline Help.
If you are not connected to the internet, your Cakewalk software will default to showing offline help until an internet connection becomes available.
