Windows Vista technologies supported by SONAR 6.2
WaveRT Driver Support — SONAR 6.2 takes advantage of Windows Vista multimedia innovations with WaveRT driver support for enhanced CPU performance at low latency audio playback settings.
Multimedia Class Scheduler Service (MMCSS) — SONAR 6.2 supports MMCSS to give important SONAR processes, such as the audio engine, prioritized access to CPU resources, and more.
Windows Vista User Account Control (UAC) — SONAR 6.2 is Windows Vista User Account Control (UAC)-compliant, allowing SONAR 6.2 to be run by multiple user accounts on the same machine with standard user privileges.
32-bit and 64-bit — SONAR 6.2 was designed to work with Windows Vista in both 32-bit and 64-bit modes.

Noel Borthwick, Cakewalk’s CTO and resident Windows Vista expert collaborated with Microsoft on the specification of the WaveRT architecture for professional audio applications.

Cakewalk DAW-line to Support Windows Vista
In addition to the SONAR 6.2 update which is now available, Cakewalk has also announced updates to its entire DAW line that will include native support for Windows Vista.
SONAR Home Studio 6 — This new version of the top-selling SONAR Home Studio and SONAR Home Studio XL software features native support for Windows Vista, a new user interface, Active Controller Technology, new effects and instruments, innovative tools for publishing music online, and more. Coming late February 2007.
SONAR Power Studio — SONAR Power Studio 25, 66, 250, and 660 integrated software and hardware solutions will be updated with SONAR 6.2 features, and support for Windows Vista and drivers. Cakewalk will begin shipping updated SONAR Power Studio to retailers in April 2007. Customers who purchase SONAR Power Studio after February 1st, 2007 qualify for a free upgrade to the new SONAR Power Studio software.
SONAR LE — SONAR LE is the first OEM DAW solution to offer support for Windows Vista. SONAR LE will be updated with version 6.2 features and a dramatically redesigned user interface. The new SONAR LE will be available for licensing February, 2007.
Project5 Version 2.5 — Project5 version 2.5 will be a free update for registered Project5 Version 2.0 customers, available via download April, 2007. Update to include support for Windows Vista for UAC enhancements, Active Controller Technology, Input Quantize, integrated VST hosting, Multi I/O support, and much more.
