The “Intel Superstars 2011” Music Competition launched November 1, 2011 and invited artists to submit original music across six music genres: Rock, Pop, Country, Singer/Songwriter, Urban, and Latin. All submissions were ranked by fans through OurStage’s patented judging technology. The Top 20 ranked artists in each genre-based competition advanced to the 2nd round of judging that ran December 1st through December 15th 2011 - which determined the Top 10 ranked Grand Prize Finalists.  The panel of industry experts selected the Grand Prize Winner based on the following criteria: (i) presentation; (ii) originality and creativity; (iii) melody, vocal ability and music; (iv) lyrics; and (v) entertainment value.

"Based on last year’s results we knew the 2011 Superstars Competition was going to be an exciting contest to find the best undiscovered talent but, Intel is still amazed at the popularity and quality of the artist song submissions”, said Josh Newman, director of Creation and Gaming Laptop Marketing at Intel.  “We’re committed to the music enthusiast PC user and the quality and quantity of the artists participating is really quite astounding.”

Prize packages totaled more than $35,000 - awarded to the First Place winners in each genre, including Intel® Core™ i7 processor-based Orange Amplification OPC’s, Cakewalk SONAR X1 Production Suite Software, Gibson Guitars, Blue Microphone’s Yeti Pro USB microphone.  In addition, one lucky fan – that participated in judging artist submissions - received a Gibson USA Firebird X Guitar, courtesy of Gibson Guitars.
