Audio Creator is chopping off my recording before it finishes

Last updated on 3/28/2016

Make sure you have the 1.5.2 patch installed as well. For the full version of Audio Creator, click here For Audio Creator LE, please click here. This will usually clear up the problem.

If that doesn't help, you can try re-importing the temp file created during the recording. Many times the full length will be available there. Go to Start | Run and type:
%APPDATA%/CAKEWALK

This will open a folder in Windows Explorer. Find the folder named "Audio Creator". Open the “Audio Data” folder there. You should be able to drag and drop the last audio file on the list directly into the Editor. You can then delete the previously recorded track and go from the temp file you dragged in instead.

If this process doesn’t work for you, please click the Options button at the top of the Audio Creator Toolbar. You will find the sound card (or audio interface) name and manufacturer listed here. Once you have this info, select your sound card manufacturer from the Hardware Setup Guide and follow the instructions here. If it is already in MME mode, please try WDM/KS or ASIO. Open a new project and try recording again. Moving your latency slider towards the fast side under Options may improve the problem.

You may want to let Audio Creator record a few seconds/minutes of silence at the end before pressing 'Stop'.
