Select Views > Step Sequencer.
Note: You can also create a new Step Sequencer clip by clicking the Step Sequencer button on a software instrument’s property page. Doing so creates a new Step Sequencer clip on the first MIDI track or on the Instrument track that corresponds to the software instrument, and the Step Sequencer view opens.
Do one of the following:

Click the Step Sequencer view Pattern menu and select Save Pattern As.

Right-click in the Step Sequencer toolbar and select Save Pattern from the pop-up menu.

On the Edit menu, click Preferences and then click File - Folder Locations.
