Streamlined UI

Several UI changes have been made in order to reduce screen clutter and help you focus on the most important elements when comping and working with Take lanes:

Vertical clip handles have been removed and replaced by intuitive mouse cursors that indicate what action can be performed when clicking and dragging various sections of a clip. For details, see Mouse cursors.

New comping mouse cursor that is centered and feels more precise.

Muted clips no longer draw left/right edges in Take lanes. This allows you to better focus on audible clip regions.

Muted clips no longer draw fades.

When Take lanes are visible, the Comp clip in the parent track no longer shows clip splits.

When Take lanes are hidden, clip splits and fades can be adjusted in the parent track.

Copy and paste between Take lanes

You can now copy and paste from any Take lane to any other Take lane. The lanes show active state by highlighting the background of the name control.

1.	Select the clips you want to copy, then go to Edit > Copy (or press CTRL+C).

2.	Select the Take lane you want to paste the clips to, then go to Edit > Paste (or press CTRL+V). The data is pasted at the Now time.

Increased range for Take lane height

The maximum and minimum Take lane height has been expanded. Take lanes can now be very short or very tall.

When Take lanes are very short, the Smart tool no longer performs time selection. This keeps the workflow efficient and allows you to quickly edit many more takes than before. Drag to isolate a region or click to isolate a clip.

Global tool changes

Adjusting crossfades in Take lanes now requires the use of the CTRL key as a modifier. To change a crossfade, hold down the CTRL key, then point to the lower portion of the crossfade and drag up/down. The mouse pointer indicates when crossfades can be adjusted.

Cross-cropping abutting clips is now possible without a modifier key. Position the mouse pointer in the top half between two abutting clips, then drag up/down.

To crop just a single clip, hold down the CTRL key and drag the left or right clip edge.

Moving over the bottom region of clips in Take lanes allow you to drag to select regions, or click to promote/isolate a clip.

Specify position of new takes

You can specify if new takes should be added to the top or bottom when Take Lanes are visible.

1.	Go to Edit > Preferences > Project - Record.

2.	Under Lanes, select New takes on top. When enabled, the newest take is placed above existing Take lanes. When disabled, the newest take is placed below existing Take lanes.
