New project templates

SONAR includes many new project templates that are suited for various tasks, such as songwriting, mixing, mastering, and general startup templates.

Project templates can be accessed from the Start Screen or from the File > New menu command.

Mastering templates

After you have mixed a project and exported a stereo audio mix, you can use one of the mastering templates to apply final processing to the mix.

The mastering templates are designed to work with the corresponding mastering FX Chains. For details, see Mastering FX Chains.

After you open one of the mastering templates, import any stems or stereo mix, then use the preloaded FX Chain on the Master bus to fine-tune the processing, if necessary.

Mastering Template - Louder and Scooped

Mastering Template - Smooth

Mastering Template - Wider

Mix templates

The mixing templates are designed to help you achieve a balanced mix. Each mixing template contains a number of audio tracks and buses, and the buses contain mixing effects.

After you open one of the mixing templates, drag your recorded audio files into the project and assign the tracks to the appropriate buses. Follow the instructions in each template to adjust levels and set the overall balance.

Showcase templates

The showcase templates are designed to be used for demonstration purposes and to inspire your creativity. Use these templates as a starting point for new projects, or to create your own project templates or track templates.
