DSD export/import enhancements (Platinum only)

SONAR now offers several important DSD export/import improvements that result in even greater sound quality.

DSD Export Decimation Filter

When exporting to a DSD format, you can select one of four Decimation Filter modes in the Export Audio dialog box:

90% of Nyquist

Nyquist Frequency

Large order FIR

FFT FIR

Each successive option provides higher quality conversion than the previous one, but may take longer to process.

Support for 352800 Hz sample rate

SONAR now handles 352800 Hz as a project sample rate, which can be selected under Edit > Preferences > Audio - Driver Settings. You may pick this format if your audio interface supports this sample rate.

If you plan to export a PCM audio-based project to a DSD format, it is advantageous to select a project sample rate of 352800 Hz, since when converting PCM to DSD the up-sample frequency is lower than 384000 Hz PCM. As a result, the sound quality when exported from 352800 Hz to DSD is higher than when exporting from 384000 Hz to DSD.

DSD import improvements

Delta-sigma modulator improvements reduce noise when converting to DSD from a signal that exceeds 0 dBSACD.
