Dynamic FX Rack

 

Note: Per-track/bus “Effects bins” are now referred to as “FX Racks”.

FX Racks in the Console view and Track Inspector dynamically resize vertically to show as many effects as you have enabled.

FX Racks in the Track view can be scrolled vertically if the parent track strip is not tall enough to show all plug-ins simultaneously.

Effects in FX Racks display lines that tell you whether the effect is outputting a mono, stereo, or surround signal:

A. Mono indicator

A. Surround indicator in buses (in 5.1 mode)

If you’re using the 64-bit double-precision audio engine, plug-ins that can send and receive 64-bit data display double lines.

To insert a new plug-in

Click the Insert New Plug-in button at the top of the FX Rack.

To bypass/unbypass a plug-in

Point to the FX slot until the Enable/Bypass button appears, then click the button.

To open a plug-in window

Click the center of its FX slot.

To give focus to a plug-in without opening its window

Hold down the SHIFT key and click the center of its FX slot.

The focused plug-in is highlighted blue.

To reorder plug-ins

Drag the FX button up or down.
