Stand-alone synths

Some soft synths can be run independently of SONAR and do not need to be inserted to the Synth Rack or an FX Rack to use. After you install this kind of synth and restart your computer, the name of the synth’s MIDI driver appears in SONAR’s MIDI Devices dialog box under Outputs.

Note - Using Offline Help

Note: If you prefer to always use offline Help, go to Edit > Preferences > File > Advanced in your Cakewalk software and select Always Use Offline Help.

If you are not connected to the internet, your Cakewalk software will default to showing offline help until an internet connection becomes available.
