Drum Replacer enhancements (Platinum only)

Drum Replacer has been updated with many powerful features.

User triggers

By default, any transients above the horizontal Threshold line results in a trigger. Auto-detected “hits” are displayed as orange trigger points.

In addition to the detected trigger points, you can also insert your own custom trigger points at any location. User triggers are displayed as yellow trigger points in a row below the detected trigger points.

To add a user trigger. Click in the row below the detected triggers. The minimum distance allowed between user triggers is determined by the Interval control.

To remove a user trigger. Right-click the user trigger.

To remove multiple adjacent user triggers. Right-click and drag across the user triggers.

To specify the velocity for a user trigger. Click the yellow user trigger and drag vertically. The current velocity value is shown while dragging.

User triggers can be useful in many cases, such as:

Adding a hit that is not present in the original source material.

Adding a hit that is below the Threshold level, without having to change the overall Threshold setting.

Offsetting an auto-detected trigger. To do so, click the auto-detected marker to disable it, then insert a new user trigger in the desired location.

Sample playback offset

The beginning of a sample does not always correspond to the actual hit. For example, with a reverse snare sample, the main hit occurs near the end of the sample.

You can offset the start time of the sample in order to specify which part of the sample should correspond to the trigger point.

A vertical line on top of the sample waveform represents where the sample will play back in relation to a trigger marker. To offset the sample playback, drag the vertical line to the desired position. Earlier positions will result in later playback, and later positions will result in earlier playback. The offset value (in milliseconds) is shown below the vertical line while dragging.

FLAC sample support

In addition to .wav, .aif, .aiff, .ogg, and .sfz files, you can also use .flac samples and .sfz files that reference FLAC audio. For details, see To load a replacement sample.

Tooltips

Tooltips are displayed for the Threshold, Dyn, Output, Pan and Offset controls.

Extended MIDI note range

The range of assignable MIDI notes has been increased to MIDI Notes 35 - 53. For details, see To trigger a soft synth.

The following MIDI Notes can be assigned:

35: Kick 2

36: Kick 1

37: Side Stick

38: Snare 1

39: Clap

40: Snare 2

41: Low Tom 2

42: Closed Hat

43: Low Tom 1

44: Pedal Hat

45: Mid Tom 2

46: Open Hat

47: Mid Tom 1

48: High Tom 2

49: Crash 1

50: High Tom 1

51: Ride 1

52: China

53: Ride Bell

Filter disable

The minimum Filter control value has been changed from 16Hz to Off, which disables the filter. In this condition, no filter is applied and all frequencies are considered in the hit detection.

Improved waveform contrast

The waveform background is darker for improved contrast.
